DEAR SUN SPOTS: This past Saturday, Oct. 6, around 6:10 p.m., while collecting bottles and cans on Route 2 to support local animal shelters, a driver struck my vehicle that was properly parked on the side of the road. The driver did not stop to provide me with their name and contact information so I, the innocent party, will have to pay to have my 2015 silver Infiniti repaired. Many people were coming and going from Route 2 that evening, so I am asking that the individual who damaged my car to come forward or any other person who might have information about the incident to please call the Rumford Police Department where I have filed a report. Your assistance is greatly appreciated.
— Rebecca, Rumford
ANSWER: I’m so sorry to hear this, Rebecca and do hope everything works itself out. Surely someone will come forward. I’m just really glad you weren’t hurt.
DEAR SUN SPOTS: My dad, Gerald Stein was best friends with a man named Louis J. Kline who was from Lewiston. My father just passed away at age 94.
Mr. Kline sent my dad three letters during World War II from the Pacific in 1943-44 which I still have. A couple of months after my dad received the last letter, Louis was killed in action. He received the Silver Star and was 20 years old. His father, Harry Kline, lived at 128 Pine St. in Lewiston in 1944. I’m trying to find any relatives of Louis so I can connect with them and share these letters. Any help anyone can give me is greatly appreciated. Write to Robert Stein at 1045 Boca Cove Lane, Highland Beach FL, 33487 or email me at robstein85@aol.com

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Two items were found at Montello Heights and we would like to find the owners. First, a cooler was left in the parking lot. Second, an item of jewelry believed to be bought at our Craft Fair on Oct. 6 was found near the Bake Sale table. If anyone wishes to claim either of these items, please call Marlene at 207-786-7149. Thank you.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I’d like to thank the nice person who works for CMP for taking the time to talk to an old lady at KFC. I don’t know his name and he doesn’t know mine. I’d also like to let him know that I didn’t win Mega Bucks, but that’s OK.
