DEAR SUN SPOTS: The Mount Blue Moccasins Pathfinder Club, a youth group for 10- to 17-year-olds sponsored by the Seventh-day Adventist Church, is preparing to go to the International Camporee in Oshkosh, Wisconsin in August 2019. We have two ongoing fundraisers, a can and bottle drive, and a clothing drive that includes soft goods such as towels, sheets and curtains. We’re running these fundraisers through Nov. 1. Drop off your donations at 58 Pine St. in Dixfield in the big white trailer out front. Please encourage your friends, family and co-workers to help us.
The Free Community Dinner sponsored by Adventist Community Services has also moved to 58 Pine St. This meal is free for everyone. As available, we give away food such as veggies, fruit, and bakery goods. We hold our dinner the last Monday of the month except in May and December when we usually schedule it a week earlier. The meal is from 4 to 5:30 p.m. We have handicapped accessibility. Use the entrance on the right side of the building through the bridge door. Inside you can take the stairs down or use the lift to the right of the stairs. We’re looking forward to seeing you soon. If you have any questions call 207-585-2389.

ANSWER: I sent the organization a private message on Facebook about the box of photos that were found containing the baby book with a birth certificate for Ervin Joseph Blanchette, born March 29, 1954, son of Maurice and Hilma Blanchette of Oak Street in Oakland. Readers, if anyone knows this family, please contact Betsy at 207-778-0837 or email her at betsyag74@gmail.com.
DEAR SUN SPOTS: Regarding the hit and run incident I was involved with in Rumford on Oct. 6 (Oct. 11 Sun Spots), I have visited or called some repair shops in the general vicinity of the accident scene. I also parked my car at a commercial business/home on Route 2 recently with the damaged portion of my vehicle visible to passing drivers while I collected bottles and cans for my current cause.
Your Sun Spots column has helped many people with their questions and needs. I much appreciate your assistance and advice in helping me heal.
