LEWISTON — The Public Theatre will present the return of Susan Poulin in her latest and funniest new show, “Makin’ Whoopie – Ida LeClair’s Guide to Love & Marriage!” on Nov. 9, 10 and 11.
Inspired from her book, “The Sweet Life,” LeClair offers a fresh view on love, marriage and dating with a delightful mix of sassy stories and common-sense advice. She strikes the perfect balance between humorous and heartfelt, whip-smart yet down to earth.
For those whose “happily ever after” is in need of a little fine-tuning, Ida provides hilarious stories and down-home advice on how to keep a marriage sweet, simple and easy. She tackles the big questions such as “What does a whoopie pie and marriage have in common?” “How do I get my sexy back?” and “You want me to do what with your ashes?”
Get the inside scoop on senior tattoos, staycation do’s and don’ts, and the latest adventures of the Woman Who Runs with the Moose. As LeClair says, “Charlie and me have been married for over 40 years. That don’t make me an expert. But it certainly gives me a lot to talk about!”
“Makin’ Whoopie!” will be performed at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9; 3 and 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10; and at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 11.
Opening night will feature a free pre-show wine tasting courtesy of Rooper’s at 6 p.m. in the lobby. Tickets are $20. For reservations call 207-782-3200 or visit thepublictheatre.org.
