AUBURN — Auburn residents Frederick and Carol-Ann Ziegler were among the winners of the Fresh Air Fund’s Friendly Towns Program 2018 Photo Contest.
The Zieglers won for their photo in the “Swimming” category, capturing Fresh Air child, Nia, 10, swimming with her host family in Auburn. They participated in the Fresh Air program over last summer.
All winners were selected from hundreds of photos submitted by volunteer host families along the East Coast and southern Canada. The photos had to show positive experiences the families shared with the children they hosted over the summer, with categories like “Backyard Fun,” “New Experiences,” “Friendship,” “Exploring the Beach” and more.
The Fresh Air Fund, an independent, not-for-profit agency, has provided free summer experiences to more than 1.8 million New York City children from low-income communities since 1877.
