The L/A Nordiques fell into an early deficit, but roared back for a 11-2 win over the Cape Cod Islanders on Wednesday afternoon down in Falmouth, Massachusetts.
Defensemen Donovan Tehan and Hans Watson each had two goals to help the Nordiques improve to 18-1 on the season. Colby Audette led the way with four points (a goal and three assists), while Joe Bisson scored his team-leading 21st goal and added two assists.
Leevi Kervinen potted both of the Islanders’s goals at 2:28 and 2:55 of the first period.
The Nordiques tied the game in a 10-second span, as Josh Malone and Watson scored at the 3:30 and 3:40 mark, respectfully.
L/A added goals from Bisson and Sam Frechette in the first period.
Watson and Tehan each scored in the second period.
The Nordiques scored five more times in the third period as Armand O’Keefe, JP Chauvin, Tehan, Kyle Secor and Audette all found the back of the net to turn the comeback into a rout.
The Nordiques return to action Sunday when they travel to Biddeford to face the Maine Wild at 11:30 a.m.
