WILTON — The 3C Society will be hosting the 4th Annual Family Style Christmas dinner at the Harnden Masonic Hall, 70 Bryant Road, from noon to 1:30 p.m. on December 25.
The 3C (caring, compassion and community) Society is asking for reservations by Dec. 21 for a food count, but no one will be turned away. All are welcome at this free community event. The meal is not just for the needy. It is for everyone, especially those who might be alone on the holiday.
A traditional menu of ham, potatoes, squash, rolls, pies and more will be served family style by volunteers. Santa Claus will be making an appearance. Transportation for those in the Regional School Unit 9 area will be available upon request.
Donations of assorted cookies (no nuts please), fudge (no nuts please), cranberry sauce, canned pineapple, canned cherries, potatoes, rolls and pies are needed for the meal.
Volunteers are needed to help with prep work, serving and decorating the hall. Also welcome would be someone to play a musical instrument or sing Christmas carols.
The 3C Society is a small group of local women joined together with a common goal of making a positive impact in their community. Their mission is to inspire friends and community members to come together and make a difference in the lives of others.
Arleen Maselli of Knowlton Corner Farm and Amanda Beane organized the first Family Style Christmas dinner held at the Chesterville Town Office. The following year they were joined by Donna Dashnau, also of Farmington, last year when the meal was moved to the Masonic Hall.
