SOUTH BERWICK — St. Dom’s earned its first varsity boys’ basketball win since 2015 by defeating Seacoast Christian 53-45 on Saturday.
Robbie Dick and Benjamin Kase each poured in 11 points for St. Dom’s. Ethan Bosse chipped in 10 points for the Saints, who led 37-32 heading into the fourth quarter.
Marlon Bernardo scored a game-high 15 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for the Guardians (1-2).
Girls’ basketball
Oxford Hills 40, Portland 38
PORTLAND — Julia Colby and Jadah Adams netted 11 points apiece to lead Oxford Hills to a 40-38 triumph over Portland in girls’ basketball action Saturday evening.
The Vikings (3-0) battled back after an 18-15 deficit in the first quarter to edge Portland by two at the final buzzer. Maggie Hartnett chipped in with two 3-pointers for six points.
Amanda Kabantu and Elizabeth Yugu scored nine points each for Portland (1-2) in the losing effort.
Boys’ hockey
Edward Little 4, Biddeford 3
AUBURN — Logan Alexander scored twice as the Eddies (3-0) raced out to a 4-0 lead in the second period before holding on to beat the Tigers (0-1) at Norway Savings Bank Arena on Saturday.
Dylan Campbell and Gage Doucette also scored for the Eddies. Doucette’s goal made it 4-0, but Biddeford started its comeback a minute later when Nick McSorley scored on an assist from Nick Reissfelder. McSorley then assisted on goals by Colin Petit and Reissfelder later in the second.
Justin Larnerd finished with 28 saves for Biddeford. Devon D’Auteuil had 22 saves for Edward Little.
Lewiston 10, Cheverus 1
PORTLAND — Junior forward Kurtis Pelletier scored five goals to power Lewiston to a 10-1 victory over Cheverus in boys’ ice hockey action Saturday.
The Blue Devils (2-0) executed a quick start with Pelletier scoring the first tally 19 seconds into the game. Pelletier also posted the next two for a 3-0 lead with just seven minutes ticked off the clock.
Lewiston led 8-0 before Jackson Wilson spoiled a shutout with the Stags’ (0-2) only goal of the game late in the second period.
Ryan Pomerleau and Caden Smith contributed a goal and three assists apiece for the Blue Devils.
Goalie Bryson Pomerleau made 17 saves for Cheverus, while Jacob Smith stopped 11 to earn the win in net for Lewiston.
Girls’ hockey
Greely/Gray-NG 7, Mt. Ararat/Morse 1
FALMOUTH — Linnea Koivisto scored a hat trick and Camilla Lattanzi had two assists as Greely/Gray-New Gloucester (2-6) beat Mt. Ararat/Morse (1-5) at Family Ice Center on Saturday.
Sawyer Dusch, Claire Stewart and Leah Walker also scored for Greely.
Lexie Saxton scored in the third period for Mt. Ararat.
