LIVERMORE FALLS — Selectmen will meet Wednesday to discuss options for demolishing a Main Street building and repairs to a firetruck.
The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Town Office. It was moved from Tuesday because two selectmen are unavailable that day.
Town Manager Stephen Gould will review options for a house at 100 Main St. where one person died in a fire in June.
Gould wrote in a memo to the board that he has been unable to contact property owner Percy Tassie of Rhode Island through phone messages or registered letter, which was returned as undeliverable.
“The building needs to come down and we will have to pay,” he wrote.
Tassie had no insurance on the building.
Also at the meeting, Police Chief Ernest Steward Jr. will update selectmen on a draft agreement to occasionally provide police services to Livermore when requested. The board approved moving forward on the draft earlier this month.
Fire Chief Edward Hastings IV will have a representative from a firetruck repair service at the meeting to discuss costs and recommendations, Gould said.
Hastings will also discuss the potential purchase of a rapid response pumper to replace the department pumper and reduce response time to the East Livermore area, according to Gould.
He will also discuss financing an estimated $5.7 million upgrade to the Livermore Falls Wastewater Treatment Plant. A public hearing on the financing is scheduled for 6 p.m. Dec. 27 at the Town Office. A town meeting vote is scheduled for January 2019.
