Jeannine Beliveau of Lewiston talks with Salvation Army bell-ringers Jeff and Debbie Reynolds after dropping some money in the kettle outside Walmart in Auburn on Wednesday. The Reynoldses have been volunteering for the Red Kettle Campaign for the past seven years. The Salvation Army has until Dec. 24 to meet its campaign goal of raising $105,000. As of Wednesday, it had raised about $88,000. Capt. DeAnna Street said that money raised is used for food assistance, clothing vouchers, weekly soup kitchen and programs for children, women and men. Street said 10 to 14 volunteers have been out ringing each day since mid-November. (Sun Journal photo by Daryn Slover)
