LEWISTON — Central Maine Medical Center has been named one of the nation’s 50 top cardiovascular hospitals by IBM Watson Health.

The Watson Health 50 Top Cardiovascular Hospitals study is in its 20th year. This is the first year that CMMC, with its Central Maine Heart and Vascular Institute, has been recognized and it is the only hospital in Maine to receive the honor.

The Watson Health 50 Top Cardiovascular Hospitals study is based on analyses including reviews from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. Hospitals were scored in key value-based performance areas including mortality, complications and readmission rates.
