AUBURN — Bugsy Hammerton scored six goals as St. Dom’s defeated Biddeford/Thornton Academy/Wells 12-1 in girls’ hockey Saturday.

Avery Lutryzkowski had two goals and three assists for the Saints (4-3-1). Isabella Webster and Taryn Cloutier each added a goal and an assist, while Giselle Ouellette and Autumn Gonzales chipped in a goal apiece.

Lily Stark scored for Biddeford/Thornton Academy/Wells (0-11).

Edward Little/Leavitt/Poland 11, Gorham/Bonny Eagle/Massabesic 1

GORHAM — Caroline Audette and Caroline Tracy each had two goals and three assists while leading Edward Little/Leavitt/Poland (10-1-1) past Gorham/Bonny Eagle/Massabesic (3-6-1) at USM Arena on Saturday.

Sophia Hartley also scored twice for the Red Hornets.

Greely/Gray-New Gloucester 6, Winslow/Gardiner 4

FALMOUTH — Camilla Lattanzi broke a 3-3 tie early in the third period as Greely/Gray-New Gloucester (4-7) beat Winslow/Gardiner (4-7-1) at Family Ice Center on Saturday.

Linnea Koivisto scored twice for Greely, which also got goals from Claire Stewart, Madison Pelletier and Kerry Roberts.

Katie Bailey, Gabby Benson, Gabby Hebert and Lindsey Bell scored for Winslow.

St. Dominic 6, Biddeford 0

AUBURN — Will Fletcher recorded a hat trick and St. Dom’s shut out Biddeford 6-0 at Norway Savings Bank Aren on Saturday.

Zach Pelletier added two goals, while Lucas Pushard had a goal and an assist for the Saints (5-2). Dominic Chasse contributed three assists and Matt Fletcher had two.

Gaston Fuksa stopped 26 shots to notch the shutout. Justin Larnerd made 46 saves for the Tigers (4-3).

 Lewiston 8, Cheverus 1

LEWISTON — John Mathon had a hat trick as Lewiston cruised to an 8-1 victory over Cheverus in boys’ hockey action Saturday night.

The Blue Devils (6-0) jumped out to a 4-0 lead before giving up their only goal of the game. Jack Madden assisted on three goals, including Mahton’s first pair of the game for Lewiston.

Ryan Joyce netted the Rams’ (2-5) lone goal at 2:03 of the second period.

Boys’ basketball

Poland 69, Lake Region 67, OT

POLAND — Tyler Tucci scored 22 points and Gage Bachelder went 6-of-7 from the free-throw line in overtime as the Knights (2-5) beat the Lakers (2-6) on Saturday.

Derek Langadas of Lake Region tied the game by sinking a jumper with four seconds left in regulation, capping a comeback from a 50-39 deficit entering the final quarter.

Jay Hawkes scored 15 points on five 3-pointers for the Knights, who made 14 3-pointers.

Mark Mayo led Lake Region with 22 points. Evan Willey scored 21.

Monmouth Academy 65, Richmond 42

RICHMOND — Connor Davies scored a game-high 22 points, and along with sharpshooting teammates Dylan Lajoie and Gabe Martin led the Mustangs to the Mountain Valley Conference boys’ basketball victory Saturday.

Lajoie (16 points) and Martin (15) hit four 3-pointers apiece to help pace Monmouth (5-3).

Calob Densmore had 12 points, Nick Adams had nine and Kenny Bing scored eight for the Bobcats (1-8).

Mountain Valley 81, Oak Hill 51

RUMFORD — Senior forward Keegan Davis had a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds as Mountain Valley discarded Oak Hill 81-51 in boys’ basketball action Saturday afternoon.

The Falcons (8-0) dominated the game through three quarters, taking a 67-32 lead into the final frame. Senior guard Jacob Blanchard contributed 13 points and seven rebounds for Mountain Valley.

The Raiders (3-5) were led by Gabe Samson and Jackson Arbour with 10 points each.

Sacopee Valley 60, Rangeley 54

AUBURN — Guard Michael Murphy swooped in for 30 points as Sacopee Valley grabbed a 60-54 victory over Rangeley in boys’ basketball action at St. Dominic Academy on Saturday.

The Lakers (5-3) went cold in the second quarter, in which they were outscored 16-7, and that made the difference down the stretch. Sophomore guard Kenneth Thompson scored a team-leading 21 points, while junior guard Nolan Boone drained another 18 for Rangeley.

Ten of the Hawks’ (2-5) 14 fourth-quarter points on free throws, matching the Lakers in points for the quarter and preserving the same six-point lead they had at the half to secure their second win of the season.

Spruce Mountain 69, Madison 41

MADISON — Jack Bryant scored 16 points to lead the Phoenix (7-1) to the MVC boys’ basketball victory Saturday.

Kayle Stewart added 13 points for Spruce Mountain, while Tate Walton scored 12.

Caden Franzose had nine points and Jacob Meader scored eight for the Bulldogs (5-3).

Dirigo 43, Carrabec 32

DIXFIELD — Alyssa McTyre scored 14 points and the Cougars (2-5) raced out to a 27-8 halftime lead en route to a 43-32 win over the Cobras (2-7) on Saturday.

Sophia Jacques and Page Lueders each added eight points for Dirigo.

Cheyenne Cahill scored 17 points for Carrabec, which outscored Dirigo 16-3 in the third quarter to cut its deficit to 30-24.

The game was used as a fundraiser in the memory of Joyce Elliott, a longtime teacher at Dirigo Elementary School who succumbed to cancer. A Dcmpsey Center team was formed in her memory, and more that $600 was raised to sponsor tha team.

Lake Region 45, Poland 39

POLAND — Sophomore point guard Shauna Hancock recorded a game-high 15 points as Lake Region battled to a 45-39 victory over Poland in girls’ basketball action Saturday afternoon.

The Lakers (4-4) and Knights (2-6) traded 11-7 frames in the first half for an 18-18 tie at the break. Lake Region stepped it up with a 15-7 run in the third quarter.

Freshman point guard Allison Ferland and junior forward Sophie Vallee each posted nine points for Poland in the losing effort.
