JAY — Planning is underway for the seventh annual Spruce Mountain Sled-In and Winter Family Festival on Feb. 16. It is scheduled at French Falls Park from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
 
The town Recreation Committee will hold a planning meeting at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Town Office. Anyone interested in helping is welcome to attend, Town Manager Shiloh LaFreniere said.
 
Activities on tap are sleigh rides, snowshoe races, sliding on a snow mountain, food, scavenger hunt, and snow sculpture/snowman contest.
 
Raffle tickets are available for an Adirondack chair made from skis and donated by Bob Poirier. There will be a 50/50 drawing and additional raffle prizes donated by local businesses at the festival.
 
Donations of raffle items, gift certificates and money are welcome, LaFreniere said. Items can be left at the Town Office, or picked up by contact the office at 207-897-6785.
