LEWISTON — The next La Rencontre at L/A’s Gendron Franco Center will feature two popular local singers Performing show tunes. Emily Flynn, Jordan Payne Hay and Paul G. Caron will present the program at the next La Rencontre (the gathering), starting at 11:25 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 10.
The cost of the meal and the programs is $12 per person. The doors and the bar open at 10 a.m. Guests may contact the center office for reservations at 207-783-1585. Email reservations may be sent to boxoffice@francocenter.org.
La Rencontre is a multi-language event and not restricted to French-speakers or even those of Franco descent. All are welcome to attend this fun monthly meal and event. The home-cooked meal is pot roast, roasted potatoes, carrots, rolls and pudding for dessert.
After the meal, guests will be treated to a show by two popular local musical theater artists performing show tunes. Community Little Theatre leading ladies, Emily Flynn and Jordan Payne Hay, will be accompanied by pianist Paul G. Caron. Flynn has appeared in several CLT shows and is best known for her portrayals of Belle in “Beauty and the Beast” and most recently as Marian Paroo in “The Music Man.” Payne Hay was Mrs. Potts in “Beauty and the Beast” and Hope in last season’s hit show, “Urinetown the Musical.” Caron is a well-known musician and director who will direct the upcoming production of Avenue Q.
There will also be a surprise appearance in the one-hour performance. After the program, several raffle prizes will be drawn.
The Gendron Franco Center is handicap accessible and is located on the corner of Cedar and Oxford streets in the “Little Canada” section of Lewiston, just across the Bernard Lown Peace Bridge from New Auburn.
