GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER — Hunter Colby scored a game-high 23 points as the Gray-New Gloucester boys’ basketball team defeated Waynflete 61-50 on Saturday.

John Martin and Zack Pomerleau each added 11 for the Patriots (7-3), who led 29-24 at halftime.

Dominick Campbell scored 14 points for Waynflete (7-2).

Forest Hills 80, Buckfield 36

JACKMAN — Brandon Gilboe scored 21 points and had 12 rebounds to lead the Tigers (10-0) to the East/West Conference boys’ basketball victory Saturday.

Gilboe also had five assists and six steals for Forest Hills. Dalton Gregoire scored 14 points, Jakob Rivas scored 11 and Parker Desjardins had 10.

Gorham 62, Lewiston 44

GORHAM — Jordan Bretton sank four of his five 3-pointers in the first half as the Rams (6-4) took a 34-21 lead into intermission against the Blue Devils (2-7) on Saturday.

Bretton finished with 19 points, Tyler Haines had 12 and Grant Nadeau added 11 for Gorham.

Yasin Mohamud paced Lewiston with 12 points.

Old Orchard Beach 46, Poland 42

POLAND — Ryan Crockett scored 21 points, Zachary LaPlante had 17 and the Seagulls (4-5) used a 16-6 advantage in the third quarter to build a 37-31 lead and get past the Knights (2-8) at Poland.

Tyler Tucci scored 10 points for Poland.

Rangeley 63, Seacoast Christian 41

AUBURN — Junior guard Nolan Boone and sophomore guard Kenneth Thompson tossed in 15 points apiece as Rangeley defeated Seacoast Christian Academy 63-41 in boys’ basketball action Saturday afternoon.

The Lakers (6-3) got hot and broke the game open in the second quarter with a 19-6 run. Thompson hit 11 of his 15 game points, while Boone nailed eight of his 15 points in the prolific frame.

Sophomore guard Kobe Jex paced the Guardians (2-8) with a team-leading 12 points on four field goals, including a trey and three from the foul line, in the losing effort.

Boothbay 77, Mountain Valley 32

RUMFORD — Faith Blethen scored 23 points and Glory Blethen had 19 as the Seahawks (10-0) rolled past the Falcons (8-3) on Saturday.

Ashley Abbott added 11 points and hit three 3-pointers for Boothbay, which led 39-13 at halftime.

Kierstyn Lyons scored 10 points for Mountain Valley.

Buckfield 37, Forest Hills 31

JACKMAN — Junior guard Kathryn Henderson tabulated 11 points as Buckfield came from behind to take a 37-31 victory over Forest Hills in girls’ basketball action Saturday afternoon.

The Tigers (4-6) led 27-19 after three quarters. Senior forward Alexandra Lessard posted a team-high nine points for Forest Hills.

Down by 10 with four minutes remaining the game, the Bucks (4-3) fired up the engines. Junior forward Karen McNeil had a pivotal scoring opportunity during the run with a hoop and foul for three points and a four-point lead with less than two minutes to go.

Edward Little 44, Thornton Academy 29

AUBURN — Edward Little held Thornton Academy to eight first-half points and rolled to a 44-29 girls’ basketball win Saturday afternoon.

Grace Fontaine and Jade Perry paced the Red Eddies (6-4) with 13 and 10 points, respectively.

Gorham 67, Lewiston 45

LEWISTON — Mackenzie Holmes drained a game-high 32 points to shepherd Gorham to a 67-45 victory over Lewiston in girls’ basketball action Saturday afternoon.

The Blue Devils (3-7) began the game with a lot of energy before Holmes took over the momentum by finishing most of the Rams’ (7-3) scoring opportunities. Sophomore guard Adele Nadeau contributed 11 points for Gorham.

Junior forward Madeline Foster played with much intensity, scoring a team-leading 19 points, while sophomore Emily Strachan pitched in with five field goals for 10 points for Lewiston in the losing effort.

Gray-New Gloucester 59, Waynflete 16

PORTLAND — Jordan Grant scored 26 points and the Patriots raced out to an 18-2 lead in the first quarter en route to a girls’ basketball win over the Flyers (0-9).

Behind Grant was Bri Jordan, who scored 11 for Gray-New Gloucester (9-1). Alexa Thayer scored four points and grabbed seven rebounds.

Margaret Ojut scored eight to pace Waynflete (0-9)

Hall-Dale 71, Mt. Abram 50

FARMINGDALE — Freshmen Iris Ireland and KK Wills combined for 41 points to lead the Hall-Dale girls’ basketball team to a 71-50 win over Mt. Abram in Mountain Valley Conference action Saturday.

Ireland finished with 21 points and 10 rebounds for Hall-Dale (6-3), while Wills added 20 points. Grace Begin also hauled in 10 rebounds.

Mt. Abram (3-7) was led by Madison Phelps with 16 points and Kaylee Knight with 13.

Madison 43, Lisbon 32

MADISON — Emily Edgerly scored 11 points and Abi Spaulding had 10 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Bulldogs to an MVC girls’ basketball win over the Greyhounds on Saturday.

Katie Worthen added seven points for Madison (5-5).

Valerie Doucette led Lisbon (1-8) with 11 points, while Kiley Merritt added eight points.

Monmouth 58, Carrabec 38

CARRABEC — Monmouth Academy jumped out to a 29-10 halftime lead over Carrabec on Saturday and cruised to a 58-38 win in girls’ basketball.

Monmouth (7-3) was led by Abby Ferland, who scored 16 points. Libby Clement added 10 and Kaeti Butterfield chipped in nine points with two treys.

Carrabec (2-8) was paced by Cheyenne Cahill, who scored a game-high 21 points. Brooke Welch tacked on 10 points, but only four Carrabec players scored.

Oak Hill 32, Winthrop 13

WALES — Oak Hill won a low-scoring matchup between a pair of undefeated girls’ basketball teams, defeating the Winthrop 32-13 on Saturday.

The Raiders (10-0) held the Ramblers (8-1) to two points in each of the first three quarters. Oak Hill, though, and only led 17-6 heading into the final quarter. The Raiders finally pulled away with a 15-point quarter in the fourth.

Old Orchard Beach 42, Poland 35

POLAND — Sophomore point guard Shani Plante scored an impressive 19 points to power Old Orchard Beach to a 42-35 victory over Poland in girls’ basketball action Saturday afternoon.

The Seagulls (7-2) separated themselves from the Knights (2-9) in the third quarter with a 16-9 run after the game was tied at halftime.

Poland played even with Old Orchard Beach again in the fourth quarter with 12 points apiece. Junior forward Sophie Vallee recorded a team-leading 10 points, while freshman point guard Allison Ferland knocked out a 3-pointer and four from the line in the losing effort.

Richmond 53, Telstar 26

BETHEL — Hannah Moholland led an offensive attack that included four double-digit scorers in Richmond’s 53-26 girls’ basketball win over Telstar on Saturday.

Bryanne Lancaster added 12, Macy Carver 11 and Caitlin Kendrick 10 for the Bobcats (3-7).

Luci Rothwell led the Rebels (2-9) with eight points. Aneah Bartlett and Brooke Richardson added six apiece.

Boys’ hockey

Lewiston 5, Mt. Ararat/Lisbon/Morse 2

LEWISTON — Five different players scored for the Blue Devils (9-0) as they built a 5-0 lead and held on to beat Mt. Ararat/Lisbon/Morse (4-5-1) and Androscoggin Bank Colisee on Saturday.

Noah Austin and Ian Struck each scored in the third for Mt. Ararat, while Sean Moore finished with 54 saves.

Lewiston earned goals from John Mathon, Mason Beaudoin, Brock Geoffrey, Ryan Pomerleau and Tyler Marcoux.

Blue Devil goaltenders Jacob Smith and Shawn Chabot saved a combined 10 shots in the win.

Girls’ hockey

Lewiston 8, Brunswick 0

BRUNSWICK — Gemma Landry scored all three of her goals in the second period and Sara Robert had four assists as the Blue Devils (12-0) rolled past the Dragons (1-11-1) at Watson Arena on Saturday.

Lewiston scored five times in the second to take a 6-0 lead.

Nadia Leiner finished with 28 saves for Brunswick.

Edward Little/Leavitt/Poland 10, Mt. Ararat/Morse 2

BRUNSWICK — Taylor Cailler scored a hat trick as Edward Little/Leavitt/Poland notched a 10-2 victory over Mt. Ararat/Morse in girls’ ice hockey action Saturday.

The Red Hornets (11-1-1) took a 5-1 lead in the first period. Caroline Audette contributed two goals, while Cassidy Bussier added a goal and two assists for Edward Little.

The Shipbuilders (1-10-1) posted a goal late in the first period from Paige Witwicki and early in the third period from Ema Hawkes in the losing effort.

St. Dominic 10, Greely/Gray-New Gloucester 1

AUBURN — Avery Lutrzykowski scored four goals for St. Dom’s in its 10-1 girls’ hockey win over Greely/Gray-New Gloucester on Saturday.

Lutrzykowski also assisted on two goals for the Saints (6-3-1). Emma Theriault and Gisele Ouellette chipped in a pair of goals each on Saturday along with two assists. Bugsy Hammerton and Isabella Webster rounded out the scoring for the Saints.

Madison Pelletier scored the lone goal for Greely/Gray-NG (4-8) in the second period.
