WOODSTOCK — Woodstock’s 161 street lights will be getting new, more efficient LED bulbs at no cost to the town, selectmen learned at their Dec. 18 meeting.
Town Manager Vern Maxfield said Central Maine Power will make the switch as part of its LED Street Light Program, which he had asked Woodstock be included in.
The move should save the town between 25 and 30 percent of its street light electricity costs, said Maxfield.
In other business at the meeting, selectmen approved $1,750 to pay Top Notch Tree Service to cut trees next to the town’s Route 232 garage that could threaten the building.
They also approved $1,650 to buy six new windows for the Whitman Memorial Library, pending clarification of details about the windows from dealer Mathew Brothers.
