DIXFIELD — Charlee Cox and Molly Fairbanks each scored 12 points, and Lisbon held on for a 46-43 girls’ basketball win over Dirigo on Saturday.
Valerie Doucette added 11 points for the victorious Greyhounds (2-12).
Alyssa McTyer scored nine points, and Alexa Varnum and Ashley Perreault each had eight for the Cougars (3-10).
Monmouth 40, Carrabec 25
MONMOUTH — Julia Johnson scored 11 points and Monmouth Academy took advantage at the free-throw line to defeat Carrabec 40-25 in MVC girls’ basketball action.
The Mustangs (12-4) made more free throws (17) than field goals (10), reaching the charity stripe 30 times while shooting 57 percent. Kaeti Butterfield scored all nine of her points from the line on 14 attempts. Abby Ferland added seven points.
Cheyenne scored 14 points to lead all scorers for the Cobras (4-11).
Oak Hill 53, Telstar 29
WALES — Desirae Dumais drained four 3-pointers and scored 17 points in Oak Hill’s 53-29 girls’ basketball win over Telstar on Saturday.
Dumais finished with 17 points, which tied Telstar’s Luci Rothwell for game-high honors.
Abby Nadeau had 14 points and Anna Beach 12 for the Raiders (13-1).
Aneah Bartlett scored eight points for the Rebels (3-12), who cut Oak Hill’s early lead down to 10 points a few times before the Raiders pulled away.
Boys’ basketball
Cony 76, Mt. Blue 49
FARMINGTON — Junior guard Simon McCormick drained a game-high 29 points as Cony went on a late-game run to jettison Mt. Blue 76-49 in boys’ basketball action Saturday evening.
The Cougars (9-4) made a big run in the third quarter to lead by two. But that evaporated in the final frame when Cony hit eight 3-pointers for 24 of their 34 points.
Freshman forward Luke Briggs connected for five 3-pointers and two free throws for 17 points for the Rams (10-4). McCormick had nine field goals, including six 3-pointers, and five from the free-throw line.
Senior guards James Anderson and Garrett Reynolds recorded 15 and 14 points, respectively, for Mt. Blue in the losing effort.
Boys’ hockey
Cape Elizabeth 8, Maranacook/Winthrop/Madison 1
READFIELD — Sophomore forward Gavin Simopolous netted a pair of goals and provided two assists to lead Cape Elizabeth to an 8-1 victory over Maranacook/Winthrop/Madison in boys’ ice hockey action Saturday evening.
The Capers (8-3) took a 3-1 lead after the first period, and added four unanswered goals in the third period. Junior forward Jonas Moon also scored a pair of goals for Cape Elizabeth.
Kyle Bean converted a pass from Sandor Doczy-Bordi for the lone Hawks goal in the losing effort.
