Fabric and crafting donations sought

AUBURN — The High Street Congregational Church is accepting donations of fabric and crafting supplies.

Donations may be dropped off at 106 Pleasant St. from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, or at other times by appointment. The annual Fabric Fair will be Saturday, April 6.

Mountain of Mittens Knit-in

AUBURN — There will be a Mountain of Mittens Knit-in from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, at the Auburnn Public Library, 49 Sprng St.

The students at Walton School will soon hear Maine author Lynn Plourde’s book “Mountain of Mittens.” The library wants to help celebrate by creating a real mountain of mittens. They need 23 pairs for 6- to 7 year-olds and 10 pairs for 9- to 10-year-olds.

Bring knitting needles,sizes 5 through 7, and a lunch. There will be some yarn and easy patterns (both two-needle and four-needle), coffee and munchies. Folks who can’t attend but have mittens they’d like to donate may drop them off at the library by Feb. 15th.
