RUMFORD – Olive A. Whitten, 83, of Rumford, formerly of Andover and Roxbury Pond, died peacefully on Monday, Feb. 11, 2019, at the Rumford Community Home surrounded by her family.
Born in Mars Hill, Maine on May 11, 1936, she was a daughter of Clarence and Annie Howard. She worked as beautician, bartender, and server at Addie’s Place in Andover, along with many other side businesses over the years with Art. She enjoyed crafting, playing the keyboard, horses, and most of all Willie Nelson.
She was married on Oct. 23, 1953, to Arthur Whitten who predeceased her shortly after their golden anniversary in 2005.
She is survived by her six children, a son Howard and his wife Judy of Sidney, Bobbi Anne MacDonald and her companion Wellman of Pittston, Wanda and her husband Pete Coolidge of Andover, Lynne Whitten of Dixfield, Kim and her husband Alan Stinson of Conyers, Ga. and Carolyn and her husband Richard Mills of Andover; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and cousins Susana Targonski and Albert Sargent.

Graveside services will be held in the spring at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Andover, Maine. Arrangements are under the direction of the Meader & Son Funeral Home 3 Franklin St Rumford, Maine.
