BOWDOIN – On Thursday, Feb. 21, 2019, Diane Ida (Rogers) Springer succumbed to her courageous battle with cancer to be with the Lord. She was surrounded by family and friends.
Diane was born Sept. 22, 1962, to Russell and Barbara (Frank) Rogers. On Oct. 18, 1980, she married Walter Springer, the love of her life. She had two children, Erland and Alisha, whom she adored and five grandchildren, Landen, Aliyah, Teekin, Kaslyne and Tyler. Diane loved her family, friends, church family and the Lord. She will be greatly missed by all.
She was a military wife and mother. She was an active member of the Bowdoin Center Baptist Church and enjoyed her role as the financial secretary. She also enjoyed helping with Vacation Bible School and the Awana program. She worked at the Bowdoin Town Store and then Rocky Ridge Apple Orchard where she enjoyed waiting on and baking for the many customers who became her friends.
Diane is survived by her husband Walter; children, Erland and Alisha; grandchildren, Landen and Aliyah; stepgrandchildren, Teekin, Kaslyne and Tyler and their mom Jenny; brother Robert Rogers and wife Theresa, sisters Shirley Carter, Sandra Smith and husband Bill, Deborah Obptande and husband Dave and Donna Megquier. She is also survived by many beloved nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts and cousins.
She is predeceased by her parents, Barbara and Russell and her beloved mother-in-law, Cora Springer.
The family wishes to thank the caring professionals at the New England Cancer Center, Dana Farber Institute, Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Midcoast Hospital.
There will be a private service for close family members, followed by a celebration of her life for all those who wish to attend on March 9 from 3-6 p.m. at the Bowdoin Center Baptist Church, 964 Burrough Road, in Bowdoin.
