Septic system installing workshop
CHESTERVILLE — Time is running out to sign up for the Septic System Installers Workshop to be held on Wednesday, March 6, at the Chesterville Town Office, 409 Dutch Gap Road. Late fee will not be charged on anyone who is preregistered by noon on Tuesday, March 5.
The class will run from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. with a 45-minute lunch break. The class may be used to obtain a septic installer’s certificate and or to extend a current contractor’s license to work in shoreland zoning.

Woodlot management course announced
SOUTH PARIS — A six-week “Managing Your Woodlot – A Beginner’s Course” will start at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 7, at Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School.
Topics will include tree ID, deeds and boundaries, timber harvesting, wildlife management, forestry taxes, forestry regulations and working with a consulting forester.
There is a $60 charge and all materials will be supplied. The instructor will be Merle Ring, retired Maine Forest Service district forester with 42 years of experience.

Dr. Seuss Breakfast, book fair for kids
SOUTH PARIS — The Kiwanis Club of Norway-Paris announces the annual Dr. Seuss Breakfast and Children’s Book Fair from 8 to 11 a.m. Saturday, March 9, at Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School. There will be pancakes, french toast casserole, eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns and beverages. Admission is $10; free for children 12 and under when accompanied by a paying adult.

Library to hold pasta dinner fundraiser
SOUTH PARIS — The Paris Public Library will host a pasta dinner fundraiser from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, March 9, to raise money for the library. The dinner will be held at the First Congregational Church. There will be two seatings, one at 5 and one at 6.
Tickets will be sold at the door: $5, adults; $3, age 12 and under; maximum of $20 a family. There will be a variety of homemade pasta dishes, salad, bread and homemade desserts. Swingin’ Bears to host square dance
SOUTH PARIS — Swingin’ Bears Square Dance Club will hold a square dance for all Mainstream and Plus dancers from 7 to 9:30 p.m Saturday, March 9, at the Oxford Hills Middle School Cafeteria, 100 Pine St.
Admission is $8 a dancer. Spectators are admitted free. There will be refreshments, door prizes and 50/50 drawing.

Chinese auction to offer cabin fever relief
FARMINGTON — A Chinese Auction, a cabin fever reliever, will be held Sunday, March 10, at the Fairbanks School, 508 Fairbanks Road.
Bidding, using tickets on items of interest, will start at noon, with drawing of tickets at 1 p.m. Cost is $1 for five tickets, with more than 100 items on which to bid. There will be door prizes and refreshments. Winners must be in attendance.
