Brookings-Smith is offering a two-hour workshop on Wednesday, April 10 at 10 a.m. at Pine Grove Crematorium and Remembrance Center, 1347 Hammond Street, Bangor.  Please call 942-8815 or e-mail at info@BrookingsSmith.com to make a reservation to attend.

In this two-hour cremation workshop, you will learn: Definition of cremation specific to the process; Maine guidelines for cremation; rules pertaining to scattering or burial of cremated remains; memorialization – tribute – gatherings; funeral home versus direct cremation provider comparison; re-planning cremation services; rematory comparison – not all operate the same way; and safeguards at Pine Grove Crematorium. There also will be a tour of the complete facility.

This workshop will identify and discuss everything you would like to know about cremation.  Jim Fernald, the General Manager and Funeral Practitioner of Brookings-Smith will be presenting the workshop.  Many people have found it helpful to see the process all the way through so to know if they would like cremation for themselves or their loved ones.  The workshop will identify many issues and concerns about cremation and Brookings-Smith hopes that this will be beneficial to decision making into the future.
