BOYS BASKETBALL

OXFORD HILLS 72, LAKE REGION 46: Teigan Pelletier paced a balanced offense for the Vikings (5-0) in their first-ever regular-season meeting with the Lakers (1-4), at Paris.

Pelletier finished with 16 points. Elias Soehren added 12, followed by Cole Pulkkinen with 11, Hayden Paine with 10, Isaiah Oufiero with nine and Keegan Watson with eight.

Evan Willey scored 23 points for Lake Region, which trailed only 29-27 at halftime.

MT. BLUE 61, DIRIGO 55: The Mt. Blue Cougars clamped down on defense in the second half to rally past the visiting Dirigo Cougars at Farmington.

Dirigo made eight 3-pointers in the first half, which included a 22-11 lead after one quarter. Trent Holman had four of those 3s and finished with 15 points. Charlie Houghton led Dirigo with a game-high 21 points.

Seth Pinkham drew the defensive responsibility to guard Houghton and finished with five points and eight rebounds for Mt. Blue. Zach Poisson had a team-high 20 points, and Hayden Dippner pitched in with 16 points, six rebounds, four assists and six steals.

ST. DOM’S 67, BUCKFIELD 47: Alex Willings used his tall frame to score a game-high 21 points as the Saints picked up the road win over the Bucks at Buckfield.

Willings also had 14 rebounds and three blocks. Gabe Carey added 18 points and five assists for St. Dom’s.

Jaiden Jack led Buckfield with 18 and Thomas Fulton added 10.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

OXFORD HILLS 47, LAKE REGION 32: Cassidy Dumont scored seven of her 20 points during a 14-3 run in the third quarter as the Vikings (4-0) pulled away from the Lakers (2-3) at Naples.

Dumont dropped in four buckets from behind the arc. Brooklyn Alexander added 14 points for Oxford Hills, which led 21-20 at halftime.

Shawna Hancock led Lake Region with 10 points.

OAK HILL 55, RICHMOND 19: Emily and Audrey Dillman each scored nine points to top a spread-out Raiders (3-1) offense in a victory over the undermanned Bobcats at Wales.

Paige Gonya scored eight points, Ari Thibeault had seven and Gabby Chessie and Audrey Bauer each had six for an Oak Hill team that had 11 different scorers.

Macy Carver scored a game-high 12 for Richmond.

LEWISTON 7, POLAND/LEAVITT/GRAY-NG/OAK HILL 1: Mason Beaudoin recorded a hat trick to lead the Blue Devils to a victory over the Kings.

Cooper St. Hilaire, Cody Dionne, Cole Ullrich and Evan Knowlton also scored for Lewiston. Daxton St. Hilaire had four assists, Cooper St. Hilaire had two, and Nick Pelletier and Tanner Anctil each had one.

Dawson Gauvin scored for the Kings to spoil Keegan McLaughlin’s shot at a shutout for Lewiston. Vinny Lupardo manned the Kings net.

GIRLS HOCKEY

LEWISTON 6, YARMOUTH/FREEPORT 1: Leah Landry capped a four-point night with the final goal of the game as the Blue Devils finished off the Clippers at Travis Roy Ice Arena in Yarmouth.

Landry collected two goals and two assists. Paige Pomerleau got the scoring started, and Leah Dube had a goal and two assists. Alyssa Marcoux and Bailee St. Hilaire also scored, and Lilly Gish and Brie Dube each had two assists. Kim McLaughlin earned the win in goal, stopping five shots.

Sophie Smith scored from Chloe White in the second period for Yarmouth/Freeport, which got 30 saves from freshman goalie Erin Balduf.

SWIMMING

LEWISTON VS. MT. ARARAT: Chloe, Emily and Kate Bilodeau all won events to help lead the Lewiston girls swim team to a win over Mt. Ararat in a virtual swim meet.

Chloe was first in the 200-yard freestyle, Kate the 100 free and Emily the 500 free for the Blue Devils, who won 78-69. Cora Spelke won two events (100 butterfly, 100 backstroke) for the Eagles.

The Mt. Ararat boys edged the Blue Devils 55-44. Sam Wright had a pair of individual wins (100 butterfly, 100 breaststroke) for the Eagles. Caleb Suli had two wins (100 and 200 free) for Lewiston.

EDWARD LITTLE VS. CONY, HYDE, GARDINER/HALL-DALE: The Edward Little boys swim team swept three virtual competitions this week, while the Red Eddies girls won two of their three head-to-head virtual matchups.

The EL girls only lost to Cony, but beat out both Hyde and Gardiner/Hall-Dale, as did the Red Eddies boys.

On the boys side, Isaac Raymond and Andrew Casares led the way, while the EL girls got multiple wins from Izzy Bellefleur, Emma Hefty and Mya Vincent.
