DIRIGO 43, SACOPEE VALLEY 28: Jayce Brophy scored 13 of her 15 points in the first half to pace the Cougars (5-2) past the Hawks (4-4) at Dixfield.
Dirigo took control with a 14-4 advantage in the second quarter, opening a 25-12 lead. Brophy and Page Lueders each had six points in the quarter.
Lueders finished with 11 points.
Jalyn Stacey led Sacopee Valley with 14 points.
BOYS BASKETBALL
DIRIGO 71, SACOPEE VALLEY 54: Charlie Houghton recorded 37 points, 17 rebounds and five assists to lift the Cougars (6-3) over the Hawks (2-5) in Hiram.
Trenton Hutchinson added 15 points for Dirigo on five 3-pointers.
McGwire Sawyer led Sacopee Valley with 22. Preston Howland added 18.
FOREST HILLS 87, MT. ABRAM 60: On the day Parker Desjardins learned he was a finalist for the Mr. Maine Basketball award, he turned in one of his better performances of the season at Jackman.
Desjardins scored a game-high 47 points to go along with 15 rebounds, five assists and four steals as the No. 3 Tigers trounced No. 6 Mt. Abram 87-60 in a Class C/D boys basketball quarterfinal game Friday night.
“We came out really solid,” Forest Hills coach Anthony Amero said “We’ve been in a lot of tournament games in the last four years and the experience did well for them. We came out hot, never got behind and got after it quick.”
Freshman Braidan Welch scored 12 points and had six steals for Forest Hills, which led 42-13 at the half.”
“We know how to play in big games,” Amero added. “Our offense is firing. We have five guys who have the green light right now.”
Hunter Warren had 14 points to pace Mt. Abram.
MADISON 70, MONMOUTH ACADEMY 51: Thomas Dean scored 24 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead the Bulldogs to the Class C/D quarterfinal victory.
Aiden Ostiguy scored 13 points and grabbed nine rebounds as well for the Bulldogs, which will host Forest Hills in a semifinal game Tuesday at 5 p.m.
“Our boys played tough,” Madison coach Jason Furbish said. “We came out to a slow start but then we rallied together.”
Cameron Cobb added 11 points for Madison.
Manny Calder scored 17 points to lead the Mustangs.
GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 64, LAKE REGION 56: Wyatt Kenney finished with 17 points to lead the Patriots (3-2) over the Lakers (1-6) in Gray.
Anthony Prescott added 11 points and Terell Claxton had 10.
Liam Grass paced Lake Region with 21 points. Evan Willey scored 14.
NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 52, ST. DOMINIC 39: Chris Hamblett had 22 points, five assists and five steals to pace the Panthers (6-3) in a win against the Saints (2-7) at Yarmouth.
Elliot Oney contributed eight points and 14 rebounds, and Bryce Poulin had eight points and 12 rebounds.
Gabe Carey led St. Dom’s with 14 points. Noah Cyr scored 11 and Alex Willings had 10.
