LEWISTON — Geiger, the nation’s largest privately held promotional products distributor, recently presented its quarterly Geiger Star Awards to associates, who have been nominated by fellow associates in recognition of their efforts to work the values of The Geiger Way.

Chris Pomerleau, facilities manager, helped with projects that included the Educate Maine virtual event, with the Halloween night event at Geiger and offered advice to improve efficiency to The Green Ladle program’s new food truck. He is also heavily involved with the South Lewiston Baptist Church and constantly helps people in need, including handing out meals for Thanksgiving 2020, clearly demonstrating the recognition category of Community Service.

Frank Pagano, digital marketing manager for the Farmers’ Almanac, found a company with the capability to redesign the almanac’s 15-year-old website, and because of his skills, was able to accomplish the design at a savings of over $100,000. His work took to site to a whole new level and doubled online programmatic ads year-over-year, exemplifying the recognition category of Business Achievement.

Seanna Morris took over Crestline Resolutions during COVID. While she had been the claims backup before the pandemic, it was a big transition to take over full time and she had to learn the process remotely. Revising of the claims process, especially reprint orders, has saved Crestline an untold amount of time and she has exemplified the recognition category of Process Improvement.

The Accounts Receivable Team — Tara Praven, Jason Linneken, Joanne Hadfield, Deanna Pelletier, Jackie Asselin, Linda Darling, Julia Gavin, Sarah Whitcher, Cheryl Mercer and Ann Marie Payne — is responsible for collecting all open and past due invoices but was put in the unenviable position of trying to collect money from customers during the worst pandemic in our country’s history. They all accomplished this even better than anyone could have expected and demonstrated the recognition categories of Customer Satisfaction and Business Achievement.

Evan Smith was the architect of Legato and his choices were outstanding and have proven to be as good as he promised them to be. Evan worked very long hours to meet deadlines while never accepting “good enough.”

Sean Berce worked alongside Smith and did an enormous amount of the programming. Berce worked long hours and made sure all the requested changes were implemented on time and on budget.

Becci Cayer worked closely with Smith to create the user experience while also ensuring that the site had tools to manage the site without requiring ongoing developer activity. She ensured the design, implementation, testing, and rollout all went smoothly and leveraged all the right resources while demanding more of herself than anyone else.

Devon Irish is responsible for the second phase of development success as he implemented countless SEO improvements to the site after the first launch. Irish required very little direction and found a way to get things done.

Because of their work, the new content that is added to the site is picked up faster and ranked higher by Google than any content we’ve ever seen. The extent is beyond the normal scope of any expectations and has increased revenue significantly, decreased costs significantly and improved the customer experience, exemplifying the recognition category of Business Achievement.
