100 Years Ago: 1921
It is interesting to note the splendid growth of the Sunday school at the High St. Methodist ME, church, due to Increased interest and not to any membership drive. Last Sunday the attendance — was 176: a recent Sunday, 190; and at the last stormy Sunday, a good test day, it was 126. Three new classes have been organised, and another for boys to be formed very soon. The every member canvass of the church is not to be held until Mar. 12.
50 Years Ago: 1971
Rep. Peter N. Kyros, D-Maine, is camping this weekend at Baxter State Park to study the impact of man upon wildlife during the winter months. Kyros said he particularly wanted to learn more about the ecological impact of providing forage for wildlife during winter months. He is accompanied by Harry Kearney, park supervisor.
25 Years Ago: 1996
The First Auburn Senior Citizens met recently at the Hasty Community Center when Bill Redmun and Doris Michael were crowned king and queen following a catered lunch. The drawing winners were Marilyn Redmun, Bernice Parks, Pearl Simmons, Lucy Cowles and Flo Dupere.
