The Green Ladle culinary arts students, from left, Kaltuma Jibril, Haley Jackson, Kristen Little and Aisha Farah, try out samples of new furniture Thursday at the Lewiston center. Manufacturers brought furniture for Lewiston High School staff, students and School Committee members to try. Their input will help determine what pieces will be purchased for the school expansion scheduled to open in the fall. “It’s an opportunity for everyone to get involved,” Ryan Tirrell, an interior designer, said. “The goal is to have the entrance and the administrative offices open by the time school starts in the fall,” said Steve Gwarjanski of Ledgewood Construction. The Lewiston High School addition is in the “building envelope” stage, Steve Gwarjanski of Ledgewood Construction said. The second floor is in place and the roof is on. Workers are creating a waterproof shell to start work on the inside. “You can’t put up drywall until the roof is watertight,” Gwarjanski said. Daryn Slover/Sun Journal Buy this Photo
