LEWISTON — Josh Murphy drove in three runs and Damon Bossie had two RBIs to help Lewiston complete a KVAC baseball doubleheader sweep over Leavitt on Saturday.
Tanner Anctil, Andon Cox and Cooper St. Hilaire all had three hits for the Blue Devils (3-3) in the 14-2 game two win. Danny May, Braeden Lynch and Connor Wolverton each had a pair of hits. The Blue Devils, playing as the away team in game two, broke the game open with a six-run top of the fifth.
Matt Wallingford had one of Leavitt’s (3-5) five hits while also taking the loss on the mound.
In the 10-2 game one victory, Cox hit a triple to drive in two runs for the Blue Devils.
Keegan McLaughlin had three hits, while Bossie and Noah Hill each had two hits, including a double. Bossie scored four times for Lewiston.
Ben Sirois had two singles for Leavitt in the loss.
TRAIP ACADEMY 6, ST. DOMINIC 1: Emerson Brown gave up three hits and one unearned run in 5 2/3 innings, and Zac Foye escaped a based-loaded jam in the sixth as the Rangers (1-5) beat the Saints (0-2) at Kittery.
Brown and Frankie Driscoll each had two hits, an RBI and a run scored.
For St. Dom’s, Zach Ouellette struck out five in five-plus innings pitched. Matt Frenette singled and scored in the third inning.
SOFTBALL
MESSALONSKEE 9, OXFORD HILLS 1: Brooke Martin hit a home run and had two singles to propel the Eagles past the Vikings in Paris.
Kristen Dube, Maddy Card and Morgan Willis each had two singles while Jordan Lambert had a triple for Messalonskee (3-1).
Kiara McLeod and Kaydence Morse each had a double for the Vikings (4-1). Morse also had a single as Oxford Hills only had three hits in the game.
ST. DOMINIC 14, TRAIP ACADEMY 10: Sydney Dick had a triple for the Saints in the win over the Rangers (1-3).
Bella Perryman and Alyssa Hart each had a double for St. Dom’s (1-1), while Kathleen Dean picked up the win, throwing 60 pitches.
TELSTAR 8, DIRIGO 2: Brooklyn Kimball and Makenzie Elliott both had multiple-hit games in the Rebels’ road victory over the Cougars at Dixfield.
Payton Berry, Jordan Berry and Sarah Chase also had hits for Telstar, and Natasha Mason scattered four hits in the circle for the win.
(FRIDAY) TELSTAR 7, CARRABEC 2: Leah Kimball made a game-saving catch in the bottom of the seventh and the Rebels then batted around in the eighth for the extra-innings win over the Cobras at Anson.
Shelby Thorman had two hits in the eighth, and Brooklyn Kimball, Makenzie Elliott and Sarah Chase also added to the extra-inning attack.
Natasha Mason went the distance for Telstar, scattering seven hits while striking out six.
GIRLS LACROSSE
FREEPORT 9, MARANACOOK/WINTHROP 4: Megan Driscoll had four goals and one assist, and Kate Tracy finished with three goals and two assists for the Falcons (3-0) against Maranacook/Winthrop (1-1) in Kents Hill.
Meredith Feller scored Freeport’s other two goals.
