FARMINGTON — At a recognition party April 17, members of the Titcomb Mountain Ski Patrol were honored for their service this year.
Rick Dodge was honored for his leadership as patrol director. He was presented with new ski poles and a plaque.
Tracy Knapp was named patroller of the year. She was presented with a plaque which reads in part, “You are a true professional and your dedication to the Ski Patrol is unsurpassed. Your positive attitude and “can do” spirit is an inspiration to our Titcomb Patrol.”
The Titcomb Mountain Ski Patrol is an affiliate of the National Ski Patrol.
“Anyone interested in joining the patrol needs three things: fairly strong skiing, snowboarding or telemarking ability; the willingness to complete an informative, 80-hour outdoor emergency care course and the willingness to volunteer time on the slopes each winter,” according to a 2004 Sun Journal article on the patrol’s seeking new members.
