It takes a lot to pull off an activity like the Great Falls Balloon Festival. A lot of people, enthusiasm, a lot of funds and a little luck. And the festival can always use more of all of these. If you are interested in being involved with making this event possible, there are many ways to do it. At least 300 volunteers work together during the festival, doing everything from setting up chairs, tables, manning T-shirts and information booths, and being an all around gopher. Many of the pilots need extra people who know the local area, roads and shortcuts, to ride with the chase crew. For those interested in crewing, a crew class is in the works for early summer to teach the basics of balloon inflation and deflation. There is also the need for more sponsors. Both businesses and individuals are invited to become sponsors.
