MONMOUTH — Brooklyn Federico tripled and struck out seven betters to lead Monmouth to a 14-1 win over Mt. Abram in five innings in a Mountain Valley Conference softball game Friday.

Emma Johnson had an inside-the-park home run for the Mustangs (8-1), and Casey Kaplan drove in a pair of runs.

Adrianna Stinchfield struck out four for the Roadrunners (0-8).

BUCKFIELD 11, CARRABEC 0: The Bucks (7-2) earned their fifth straight win by beating the Cobras (0-6) in Buckfield.

Senior pitcher Cara Merrill struck out 14 batters for Buckfield. She also had two singles. Kelsey Violette added a triple and a single.

SACOPEE VALLEY SWEEPS ST. DOM’S: Elyse Guptill threw a pair of one-hitters and also paced the offense as the Hawks (6-3) won twice against the Saints (2-4) in Hiram, 3-1 and 2-1.

Guptill belted a triple and a home run in Game 1. Abby Sanborn and Lakyn Hink each contributed an RBI single.

In Game 2, Guptill singled home Gabby Jamison-Martin for the go-ahead run in the sixth inning. April Barrett also drove in a run with a second-inning single.

BASEBALL
HALL-DALE 15, TELSTAR 1, 5 INNINGS: Max Byron had two doubles to lead the Bulldogs to a win over the Rebels in Farmingdale.

Sam Sheaffer and Ben Nathan each added doubles for Hall-Dale (5-5). Drake Bickford had two hits for the Bulldogs.

Myles Lilly had two hits, including a triple, for Telstar (4-5).

OAK HILL 10, MADISON 3: The Raiders (4-1) used a big third inning to pass and eventually run away from the Bulldogs (1-5) in Madison.

Sam Lindsay and Kyle Delano both pitched for Oak Hill and held Madison to three runs. At the plate, the Raiders scored four runs in the third inning and five more in the sixth. Jackson Arbour led the offensive attack with two hits and three RBIs.

Bryce Willette started for Madison and notched a hit at the plate in the loss.

SACOPEE VALLEY SWEEPS ST. DOM’S: Tristan Croteau pitched six shutout innings as Sacopee Valley (7-4) completed a sweep of St. Dominic (0-5) with a 5-0 victory in the second game at Hiram, after rallying to take the opener 5-3.

Croteau allowed seven hits and struck out two. McGwire Sawyer had two hits for the Hawks.

In the opener, Carson Black hit a two-run homer on an 0-2 count in the sixth inning to give Sacopee a 4-3 lead. Croteau had three hits.
