TOPSHAM — Shauna LeBlanc and Charlotte Gastonguay each had five goals as Lewiston beat Mt. Ararat 13-10 in girls lacrosse action Tuesday.
Brie Dube scored two goals and dished out five assists and Ceci Miller had one goal and one assist in the win for the Blue Devils (5-1). Gastonguay also added two assists and Emma Begin made 10 saves for Lewiston.
Maddie Daverio scored three times for the Eagles (4-4) and Maddie Kinney had two goals. Elsa Daverio, Erin Harty, Audrey Machildron, Cecilia Greenleaf and Grace Phillips each scored a goal. Amanda Pickens stopped nine shots in net.
NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 19, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER/POLAND 4: Lily Weinrich and Maggie Holt scored four goals each as the Panthers (6-2) handled the 26ers (1-6) at Yarmouth.
Vy Tran added three goals and Emma Sharp had two for NYA. Andrea Smith had three goals and Cody Kluck had the other for Gray-New Gloucester/Poland.
SOFTBALL
MONMOUTH 10, RICHMOND 5: Grace Levesque doubled and tripled among three hits to lead the Mustangs to the victory in Richmond.
Erin Gosselin and Emma Johnson also had three hits apiece, with Gosselin hitting two doubles and Johnson one. Maddie Herr had two hits, including a double for Monmouth (10-2).
The Bobcats (5-3) briefly led 4-3 in the second inning before Monmouth took the lead back for good in the top of the third.
GARDINER 9, WINTHROP 2: Devin Clary had three hits, including two doubles, as the Tigers beat the Ramblers in Gardiner.
Taylor Takatus also had three hits, including a triple, for Gardiner (8-0). Maddie Farnham and Corrine Vasvary each had two hits.
Sydney Harrison had two hits for Winthrop (4-4).
NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 12, ST. DOMINIC 6: The Panthers (3-3) used a seven-run fifth inning to get past the Saints (2-4) at Yarmouth.
Jasmine Huntsman, Lauren Powers and Hayden Wienckoski all had multiple hits for NYA, with Wienckoski notching a triple.
Kathleen Dean had two hits for St. Dom’s and Bella Perryman hit a triple.
BASEBALL
FRYEBURG ACADEMY 8, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 3: The Raiders (8-3) broke open a tie game with a five-run seventh inning and defeated the Patriots (2-10) at Gray.
Gray-New Gloucester was plagued by control problems, giving up five walks and hitting five batters. Also, Fryeburg stole five bases.
Austin Albert had a double as one of his three hits for the Patriots, and Zach Winchester also had a double among his two hits.
