It seems as though the Republicans have made unto themselves another golden calf.
The last time I saw a similar calf was at the end of the movie, “The Ten Commandments.” When the people presented it, they all danced around what they had constructed. It was at that moment, the earth opened up and they were all consumed.
History has a funny way of coming around from time to time to allow a teachable moment. Idol worship will never be able to fool all the people all of the time. Maybe some of the people some of the time will fall prey to the disinformation campaign being waged by the Republicans and their golden calf.
