AUBURN — A 14-year-old boy was listed in stable condition Tuesday, a day after he was injured in an ATV crash.
The boy, whose name is being withheld by police, had been listed in critical condition Monday.
Deputy Police Chief Timothy Cougle said Tuesday that the boy’s condition had since been upgraded at Maine Medical Center in Portland.
A 17-year-old boy had been towing a disabled ATV ridden by the younger boy downhill on Danville Corner Road when the two vehicles crashed into a ditch at Mountain View Drive, according to police.
Both teens were thrown from the vehicles.
The 14-year-old boy sustained head injuries. He was taken by local fire and rescue crews to a Lewiston hospital, but was later transferred to Portland.
The older teen was said to have had minor injuries.
Police were continuing to investigate the crash Tuesday, Cougle said.
