Chapter #1

It was a normal day on Halloween Avenue. The birds were chirping, the old ladies were gardening, the kids were playing, and a young family was moving into 1,343 Halloween Avenue. There were five kids. One 11-year-old (almost 12), 2 8-year-olds (almost 9) and 2 5-year-olds.

1,343 Halloween Avenue had 7 floors with 10 rooms on each floor. There were 7 people in the household. Each person had 10 rooms to themselves, except for the dad. He had the floor with the kitchen/dining room, living room, and mudroom/laundry room. So the dad only had 7 rooms to himself.

All 7 of the Wonkydonks and Elephants walked in with 3 boxes in everyone’s arms. The 8 year-olds raced to the elevator and said, “I call the 6th and 7th floor!”

“Oh great,” thought the 11 year-old named Ethan, “You’d think the oldest child would get to pick their floor first!”

On the 7th floor Emily, the 8 year-old who was 12 days older than the other 8 year-old, was unpacking her lamp and building it when she heard a strange noise coming from the closet.

“What was that?” she whispered in a freaked-out voice.

Emily freaked out so much that she ran to the first floor where her mom was unpacking her bed and building it.

“Mommy!!!!! There was a scary noise in my closet! Mommy? Mommy!!!!!!”

“Uh, yeah. Right. Let’s go check the 7th floor for things that might haunt it. Ok? Ok.”

But just then, Ryleigh came in yelling, “Amanda! There’s a freaky noise coming from under my bed!”

“Oh great, not you too!” The mom said, trying to stay calm.

When the girls were in the elevator, passing the fourth floor, Camden pushed the “I want the elevator” button. As the door opened and Camden stepped in, Emily gagged, embarrassed that Camden Elephant was her step-brother.

“Hi Eminy!” Camden shrieked in her ear, thrilled to see her. Emily gagged again.

“Bing!” went the elevator as it got to the fifth floor, where Camden got off. After that the elevator continued on to the 6th floor. Ryleigh, Emily and the mom, got off and checked all 10 rooms for things that might haunt the 6th floor. But nothing was to be found at all.

“Hopefully we’ll have better luck on floor #7.” said Emily, anxious to check upstairs.

So, the ladies hiked up the stairs to floor #7. Nothing was to be found there either.

Chapter #2: That Night

That night on the seventh floor Emily was sitting cross-legged on her Paris bedspread texting in a group message with her bff’s, Madi, Leah, a different Maddy, Adriana, and Morgan. When Emily finally fell asleep (with her phone in hand,) she quickly woke up to the sound of footsteps, in her closet. MUST BE MY IMAGINATION, thought Emily. But then it happened AGAIN.
