Cecile Aube helps her friend Salem Taylor learn to roller-skate Thursday afternoon around Taylor’s neighborhood in Auburn. It was only the second time she had skated but within a few minutes, she was on her own and picking up speed and gaining confidence. “It’s only a matter of time before she skins her knees, but we’ve all been there,” Aube said. “It’s all part of learning.” Aube said she cringed when the young girl headed for some potholes but didn’t fall.
