MECHANIC FALLS — The 132nd annual camp meeting of The Advent Christian Camp Meeting Association is to be held from Sunday to Sunday, July 18-25, at the grounds on Route 121.
The camp meeting aims to provide spiritual and physical refreshment through Bible study, worship services and fellowship. The public is welcome to attend services, Bible study, meals and other activities.
The Rev. Matt Larkin, director of leadership development for the Advent Christian General Conference, will be the evangelist. He will speak at services at 7 p.m. Sunday through Saturday, July 18 to 24, and at the Sunday service at 10 a.m. July 25. His theme for the week, “And Now What?,” focuses on life after the pandemic.
The Rev. Josh Alves will be Bible teacher for the week. His topic will be the life of Joseph recorded in the Book of Genesis. The study will be held from 9:45 to 11:45 a.m. Monday through Friday.
Alves is teaching pastor at Oak Hill Bible Church in Oxford, Massachusetts. He holds a certificate in visual communications, is an accomplished author/illustrator and is a graduate of the Leadership Development Institute.
Leading worship is Jessalyn Kofstad, whose family has been association members and cottage owners for five generations. An alumna of the association’s youth camps during her preteen and teen years, she has participated in worship services at camp meetings as a singer and instrumentalist.
Kofstad leads worship services at Calvary Bible Church in Meredith, New Hampshire.
Meals will be served in the dining hall, and donations will be accepted to cover expenses. Camp sites are available and reservations are recommended by contacting Clerk Bernice Allen at bernice14@icloud.com or 207-839-8870. Reservations are recommended.
The association’s annual business meeting will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, July 24, to elect officers, present reports and conduct other business.
Because of a lack of staff, youth camps will not be held this year.
