The Paris Public Library Board of Trustees named Connie Allen a Trustee Emeritus at its June meeting, in recognition of her decades of dedicated service to the library and the Paris community. She retired as a trustee after serving on the board for 41 years, being the treasurer of the organization for most of them. Her connection to the library goes back even farther, from being a patron as a child and becoming an employee in her teens.
With Allen’s retirement, and with another recent resignation from the board, there are presently two vacant seats on the 11-member Board of Trustees. Anyone interested in becoming a trustee of the library is invited to submit their name for consideration by calling the library at 207-743-6994 or emailing paris.public.library@MSLN.net.
To be a trustee, candidates must live in the town of Paris and be at least 18 years of age. The board meets evenings the third Thursday of the month.
