Spectrum Generations plans to host the ninth annual Celebrity Chef Challenge fundraiser at 5 p.m. Monday, Sept. 20, at Snow Pond Performing Arts Center, 8 Goldenrod in Sidney.
The event will feature three local chefs who will prepare dishes based on Meals on Wheels guidelines. This year’s featured chefs include Heidi Parent, Hells Kitchen participant and Capital Area Technical Center Culinary Arts instructor, and Danielle Aldrich from The Blind Pig Tavern.
Their signature meals will be judged by Jared Baker from Maine Cabin Masters; Shawn McLaughlin, owner of State Lunch; and Earl Smith, a Maine author and retired Colby College Dean.
Shannon Moss, public information officer at Maine Department of Public Safety, will emcee the event.
The winning dish will be incorporated into Spectrum Generations’ Meals on Wheels program.
Tickets start at $75 and are required. All proceeds help support Spectrum Generations’ Meals on Wheels program, which utilizes staff and volunteers to prepare and deliver approximately 1,400 meals each week to homebound seniors in communities throughout Kennebec, Knox, Lincoln, Sagadahoc, Somerset, and Waldo counties, plus the towns of Harpswell and Brunswick in Cumberland County.
