To the Editor:
The inaugural Mahoosuc Art & Agriculture Tour was a wonderful success due to the participation and support of so many! Although the idea was “hatched” by Rotarian Lucy Abbott, it would not have been possible without the cooperation and collaborative spirit of Kate Webb, Coordinator of Bethel Area Arts & Music, Bonnie Pooley of the Local Food Connection, and Jessie Perkins of the Bethel Area Chamber of Commerce.
Thanks to this group, the event was well-received by all who attended. Thanks to the following farms for opening their venues and showcasing their offerings: Dunham Farm, Morning Glory Farm, Swain’s Farm, LaFerme, Carter’s Farm, and Sweet Tart Orchard. Each of the farms hosted local artists who showcased their products.
The artists were: Martha Grover & Josh Rysted; Betsey Foster; Luna Moth Collective; Rebecca Zicarelli of Village Blues; Emily N Wilson Designs; Tanya Johanson; Mitch Benedict; Monica Mann of Earth and Fire Pottery; Jane Hathaway; Repant! Totes; Stephen Stone of Stone’s Wood Creations; Kate Goldberg of Bethel Retreads and Becca Hoskins.
This event served to highlight the extraordinary talents of so many local people, and it is the hope of the Rotary Club of Bethel that the event grows in the future! Additional thanks are extended to the Rotarians who hosted/greeted at each venue!
