JUDY MOODY IN A MONDAY MOOD
by Megan McDonald
Illustrated by Peter H. Reynolds
Do you have something in common with 3rd Grader, Judy Moody? If you do not like Mondays because they are the start of the school week, do not like green zucchini pancakes for breakfast but DO LIKE popping bubble wrap, then you do have a few things in common.
On Monday, Mr. Todd, Judy’s teacher, realizing that Mondays were often boring for many of his
students, decided to turn this particular Monday into “Bubble Wrap Appreciation Day”! The class
did bubble wrap art, bubble wrap science with raw eggs, and spent some time popping bubble wrap along
with Principal, Ms. Tuxedo.
Judy had such a great day in school she decided to create some special days and activities of her own for
the rest of the week along with Stink, her brother, and her friends. Mom and Dad offered ideas , too, but
not necessarily to Judy’s liking.
We invite you to read this funny book with delightful illustrations to find out about Judy’s special days and
activities. Bet you have something else in common with Judy Moody … creativity! If so, perhaps you can
come up with some of your own special days and activities and even, perhaps, some different activities
using bubble wrap…POP! POP! POP!
