LISBON — Danny Levesque scored on a header off a free kick in the second half to send Lisbon past Monmouth Academy 2-1 in MVC boys soccer action Monday.
Sam Lubamba scored in the first half for the Greyhounds (9-1), while Elijah Fullerton and Hunter Brissette had assists. Brissette also held Monmouth’s Hayden Fletcher to one shot all game while man-marking him.
Jacob Godbout scored the lone Mustangs (7-2-1) goal in the first half. Monmouth’s Hunter Frost made six saves in net, while Sean Moore stopped seven shots for Lisbon.
SPRUCE MOUNTAIN 6, DIRIGO 2: Lucas Towers scored two goals and assisted on two others as the Phoenix (5-4) flew past the Cougars (2-8) in Jay.
Owen Bryant also scored twice and added an assist. Kaleb Finelli and Carter Pitcher were the other Spruce Mountain goal-scorers, and Joel Thornton notched an assist. Jacob Bryant started the game in goal and made four saves before Nate Holland relieved him and made two more.
Loegan Hodgkins stopped two shots while getting the start in goal for Dirigo. Ethan Woods and Trenton Hutchinson scored for the Cougars.
OAK HILL 4, CARRABEC 0: Landon Bangs scored three goals to lead the Raiders (3-4) over the Cobras (1-2) in Wales.
Bangs scored the first goal of the game, followed by Patrick Strout to go into halftime with a 2-0 lead. Bangs scored both goals in the second half for Oak Hill. Cooper Spencer assisted twice.
GIRLS SOCCER
MOUNTAIN VALLEY 10, DIRIGO 0: Ryleigh Richard’s hat trick was just the tip of the iceberg as the Falcons (4-5) sunk the rival Cougars (0-9) in Rumford.
Jaden Boulanger added two goals, and Emma Clukey and Madison Dow notched two assists each. Other goal-scorers for Mountain Valley were Annelise Witas, Emma Koch, Kaelynn Bright, Myckayla Bright and Kara Jasud, while Kloee Pelletier, Tessah LeClerc and Madisyn McLean all had an assist.
Lauretta Woodhead stopped 17 shots in goal for Dirigo, and Justice Gendron saved the lone on-target shot she faced for Mountain Valley to secure the shutout.
BRUNSWICK 5, LEWISTON 0: The Dragons (8-1) blanked the Blue Devils (0-8) in Lewiston.
Mia Klimash and Alexis Morin both scored a brace for Brunswick in the win with teammate Logan Brown tallying the fifth goal for the Dragons. Goalkeeper Morgan Foster made five saves.
Lewiston goalkeepers Sadie Morgan and Ava Simpson combined for 21 saves.
FIELD HOCKEY
MOUNTAIN VALLEY 7, BOOTHBAY/WISCASSET 0: Autumn Freeman scored a hat trick for the Falcons (9-1-1) to lead her team in an MVC win over the Seahawks (2-7) in Rumford.
Freeman also tacked on two assists in the victory. Mallorie Bourret, Taylor Duguay, Alana Young and Abby Jones all scored a goal each. Goalie Brooke Brown saved three shots.
Boothbay/Wiscasset’s Jaelyn Crocker saved 28 shots.
WINTHROP 7, TELSTAR 0: The Ramblers (11-0) shut out the Rebels (0-10) in Winthrop.
Maddie Perkins and Madeline Wagner both scored two goals a piece for Winthrop. Teammates Bella Littler, Brooke Belz and Izzy Folsom each added a goal of their own. Perkins and Wagner also tallied two assists each.
Madison Weymouth saved two shots for Winthrop before Elle Folsom came in in relief and did not record a save. Telstar’s EB Hoff saved 24 shots.
VOLLEYBALL
PORTLAND 3, LEWISTON 0: Kaitlyn Shannon and Theresa Shaw were both perfect 6-of-6 attacking but the Blue Devils (1-9) fell to the Bulldogs (2-8) in Lewiston.
Shannon was 8-of-9 serving while Shaw had two aces and three digs. Sage Cormier notched two aces of her own, along with four kills and one block, and Maddie Oliveira had three aces, three assists and one kill.
