Members of the Auburn City Council will meet informally tonight to discuss the possibility of the Cushman-Hollis Building being demolished in connection with the Union Street By-pass Project. City Manager Bernard J. Murphy said he would brief council members on the meeting he and several other city officials had last week with members of the State Highway Commission. Originally the by-pass project called for a route around the big building, however, recently there has been sentiment for a change of route which would require the removal of the structure. An item pertaining to the matter is on the council agenda for the Oct. 18 meeting. Tonight’s session is scheduled at 7 o’clock in the conference room at the city building.
