DEAR SUN SPOTS: The women visiting our drop-in center at 97 Blake St. in Lewiston are enjoying our Keurig coffee machine a LOT, especially with the weather getting colder. We’re wondering now if your readers might have some gently used, no longer needed women’s winter coats, parkas, jackets and/or boots that they might donate. The women we serve don’t wear “dress coats,” but anything else that will keep out the cold would be so helpful! We’re open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. For directions, we can be reached at 513-3922. Thanks! — Sonia Turgeon, activities director, Center for Wisdom’s Women, Lewiston

ANSWER: I’m sure many women have coats and boots (and sweaters and hats) collecting in their closets. I hope you get lots of donations! For those unfamiliar with the Center for Wisdom’s Women, established in 1999, it is a weekday drop-in center “rooted in love,” according to its website. It offers safe and sacred opportunities for women in the community to heal from adverse life experiences, learn to thrive and enrich each other’s lives. No judgment, no requirement, no fees, no paperwork, no appointments — just an open door. All women are welcomed. It is best to find the center off Bates Street, between Pine and Ash Streets, in a big parking lot. Look for a sign with a big sunflower on it. You can park along the fence or along the building’s wall.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I have a cat with medium-length fur and I am looking for someone to give her a good brushing. I do not want her shaved, just brushed. Call Lucy at 684-4394 or email to boomer1946@roadrunner.com. — Lucy, Lewiston

ANSWER: I found a couple of pet-grooming services in my Rolodex:

• Four Paws Pet Grooming, 675 Main St., Lewiston, or 56 Nickerson Ave., Auburn. Both can be reached at (207) 312-5823

• Chappie’s Pampered Pets Grooming Salon, 4 Marian Drive, Auburn, (207) 786-5300.

Of course, readers, if you love cats and want to help Lucy, please write in!

DEAR SUN SPOTS: My online edition of the Monday Sun Journal horoscope column was unusually entertaining! I’m wondering why or how that came to be. It was really funny! Thank you for a great column. — Diana Cummings, Greenwood
