BANGOR – Penobscot Theatre Company in partnership with ImprovAcadia recently announced a new special feature for their 48th Season: Ready, Set, GO! On the second Sunday during each main show run, ImprovAcadia will utilize the existing set to create a new play inspired by your suggestions. Performances are set for 7 p.m. Nov. 28, Jan. 16, Feb. 20, April 3, May 15 and July 3 at the theater company at 131 Main St.
“We’re so happy to continue our collaboration with PTC,” said ImprovAcadia co-owner and PTC Executive Director, Jen Shepard, in a news release. “Since 2018 we’ve been talking about this project and now it’s here! This show really is for everyone from kids to adults. Here’s how it will work — the cast will use the set and audience suggestions to improvise a whole new play that will only be seen that night.”
The cast is composed of community favorites: Allen Adams, Dennis Price, Amanda Eaton, and Jen Shepard. Joining the cast for the November 28th show is Bangor born — Andy Bolduc. Andy is currently touring with The Second City. “I was lucky enough to be home for the inaugural show,” said Andy, “I’m really looking forward to improvising on the Bangor Opera House’s stage.” Rounding out the cast is Larrance Fingerhut, adding his considerable talents behind the piano as the music director.
Tickets cost $25 for adult non-subscribers and $15 for students.
