USM/LA Senior College plans to host a “Food for Thought” presentation via Zoom by Sam Smith at 3 p.m. Monday, Dec. 13, about his tiny house construction project.
Smith is an occupational therapist who has his own business in Rockland. A graduate of Husson University, he studied psychology as an undergrad and got a master’s degree in occupational therapy.
Growing up around the Midcoast area, he worked many summers as a stone mason and landscaper, so when he decided that he wanted to live without rent or a mortgage, he did so by building himself a tiny house. He began construction about two and a half years ago and has just moved in.
