River Arts in Damariscotta invites artists to submit work for the next juried show, “Black & White.” This show is open to members and non-members; all mediums are welcome.
The deadline for entries to the “Black & White” show is 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 15; the juror will be architect and painter Jack Silverio.
Silverio studied architecture at Rhode Island School of Design and had his own architectural practice for 37 years. In recent years he has devoted himself full time to painting and sculpture. His current work is based on geometric studies, often employing progressions of forms using the Fibonacci Series or the Golden Ratio.
For members the entry fee to the show is $15 and for non-members it is $30. All entries must be gallery ready and clean. Artists may enter two pieces up to 48 inches (in any direction) including frame.
All submitted works must be for sale. Entry forms are available in the gallery or online at riverartsme.org. Notification of juror’s selections will be made via email by Wednesday, Jan. 19. Unaccepted work should be picked up promptly during gallery hours.
The “Black & White” show will run from Jan. 18 to Feb. 19. A reception is scheduled from 2 to 4 p.m. Jan. 22.
Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. Be aware that River Arts will be closed Jan. 2-7.
