JAY — Spruce Mountain had four players score in double figures in an 82-40 MVC boys basketball win over Buckfield on Tuesday.
Jace Bessey led the way for the Phoenix (5-0) with 23 points and right behind him was Owen Bryant who had 22 points. Ian York finished with 13 points and Elie Turner had 10 points.
Gavin Charest led the Bucks (0-5) with 17 points and Colby Jordan had seven points.
DIRIGO 48, OAK HILL 45: Charlie Houghton led the Cougars (5-1) with 25 points in a win over the Raiders (3-3) in Wales.
Trenton Hutchinson chipped in with 14 points.
Ramon Spearman led Oak Hill with 10 points and Maverick Swan had nine points.
EDWARD LITTLE 83, DEERING 55: John Shea scored a game-high 36 points, starting with a 3-pointer in the first quarter before he began to dominate down low, and the Red Eddies raced ahead and finished off the Rams in Auburn.
Pat Anthoine added 15 points and Marshal Adams dropped in nine, with both players draining three 3s apiece.
Evan Lagasse led Deering with 16 points, including four 3s, and Remijo Wani pitched in with 15.
LEWISTON 65, HAMPDEN ACADEMY 57: David Omasombo had 20 points to lead the Blue Devils (4-2) to a win over the Broncos (0-7) in Lewiston.
Donovan Jackson, Malik Foster and Eli Bigelow each added nine points in the win.
JJ Wolfington had a game-high 24 points for Hampden Academy and Nick Johnson had 10 points.
MADISON 48, MOUNTAIN VALLEY 34: The Bulldogs (3-3) outscored the Falcons (2-3) 19-5 in the fourth quarter to break a tie game in Rumford.
Callan Franzose paced Madison with 14 points, and Thomas Dean and Kayden Hibbard scored 12 apiece. All of Hibbard’s points came on four 3-pointers.
Zach New scored a game-high 17 points for Mountain Valley, while Will Gallant added nine.
LEAVITT 53, BRUNSWICK 41: Brett Coburn scored 19 of his 21 points in the second half to lead the Hornets (7-1) over the Dragons (2-4) in Brunswick.
Degan Jordan had 17 points for Leavitt.
Thomas Harvey led Brunswick with 18 points and Quin McCaffrey had 13 points.
GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 64, FRYEBURG ACADEMY 49: Three players scored in double figures as the Patriots (3-3) beat the Raiders (1-4) at Fryeburg.
Jay Hawkes led GNG with 17 points and Nate Hebert and Anthony Prescott each had four 3-pointers for 12 points.
Bobby Hallam led Fryeburg with 13 and Bryce Richardson had 11.
CARRABEC 57, LISBON 46: Luke Carey scored 23 points and had 10 assists to lead Carrabec to a 57-46 win over Lisbon in a Mountain Valley Conference game in North Anson.
Joel Gehrke scored 12 points for the Cobras, who outscored the Greyhounds 18-6 in a decisive first quarter.
Levi Tibbetts scored 20 points and Mason Booker added 12 for Lisbon.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
EDWARD LITTLE 50, DEERING 33: Rachel Penny scored 12 points, and Layla Facchiano and Tess Robbins added 11 points apiece as the Red Eddies (2-5) cruised past the Rams (0-6) at Portland.
Maya Gayle scored 21 points for Deering. Ella McGowan added 10.
BRUNSWICK 76, LEAVITT 36: The Dragons (5-0) made 10 3-pointers in the first half on their way to a 41-20 lead and beat the Hornets (1-4) in Turner.
Logan Brown scored 22 points, including six 3-pointers for Brunswick. Morgan Foster added 12 points, six assists and four steals, while Eva Doring added 12 points, including four 3-pointers. Kelsie Carlton added 10 points.
Delaney Ennis scored 13 points for Leavitt.
TRAIP ACADEMY 51, ST. DOMINIC 29: Emme Hale scored 19 points as the Rangers (3-3) beat the Saints (2-3) in Auburn.
Hannah Thorsen had nine points for Traip.
Jessie Zimmerman led St. Dom’s with 13 points.
HAMPDEN ACADEMY 45, LEWISTON 33: Bella McLaughlin led the Broncos (6-1) with 20 points in the win over the Blue Devils (2-4) in Hampden.
Koral Morin had 11 points to lead Lewiston and Natalie Beaudoin had 10 points.
BOYS HOCKEY
LAKE REGION/FRYEBURG/OXFORD HILLS 4, WINDHAM/WESTBROOK/BONNY EAGLE/SACOPEE VALLEY 2: Jacob Lemery scored his first varsity goal, which proved to be the eventual game-winning goal, in the Ice Cats’ (5-1) win over the Trail Blazers (3-3) in Bridgton.
Owen Galligan scored twice for Lake Region/Fryeburg/Oxford Hills and Caleb Micklon also scored in the victory. Noah Grant made 43 saves for the Ice Cats.
Mason Leblanc and Cole Washburn scored in the first period for Windham/Westbrook/Bonny Eagle to take a 2-0 lead. Porter Krause made 30 saves.
