“Chicken Little” is squawking on the evening news about food shortages, saying the shelves are empty.

People can relax; we are not going to starve if they can’t find their favorite food. They need to stop whining, and choose something else.

We are a generation of children and adults who are used to instant gratification: “I want it and I want it right now.” Maybe we should stop complaining and be grateful for the abundant food and products available.

Let’s not play the blame game either; we together created this booming economy. It’s Economics 101 — more demand equals price increases. Gas prices were a lot higher a few years ago when my husband and I drove to Alaska — $5 a gallon at home and over $6 in Canada — how soon we forget.
