AUBURN — Two people were arrested Thursday night after police say they tried to pass counterfeit money to bail someone out at the Androscoggin County Jail and then were found in possession of drugs, police say.
Auburn police arrested Angelina Quirion, 39, of Bangor and Adam Jalbert, 33, of Caribou on Jan. 20 after being called to the jail by staff there when they tried to pass the counterfeit bills, a statement from the department said.
The pair were found in a vehicle outside of the jail at 11:30 p.m.
According to the statement, officers seized 112.3 grams of cocaine base, 165.3 grams of cocaine, 299.5 grams of fentanyl, and 492.3 grams of methamphetamines, along with a SCCY 9 mm pistol. A Lewiston Police Department K9 officer assisted in the search.
Both Quiron and Jalbert had active bail conditions from previous drug arrests, the statement said.
Charges against the couple are expected.
