WINTHROP — Andrew Foster led Winthrop with 17 points in a 50-43 MVC boys basketball win over Oak Hill on Thursday.
Logan Baird scored 13 points for the Ramblers (8-2) and Matt Beck added 10 points.
D’andre Daniels poured in 10 points for the Raiders (6-7) and Silas Dumont pitched in eight points.
WAYNFLETE 53, ST. DOMINIC 43: The Flyers (5-6) broke away from a 20-20 halftime tie with a 21-7 third quarter, fueled by seven points from Nico Kirby, as they defeated the Saints (8-3) at Portland.
Kirby finished with 17 points, while Henry Hart tossed in 10.
Campbell Perryman scored 11 points for St. Dom’s. Gabe Carey chipped in with 10.
LAKE REGION 70, POLAND 67, OT: Brock Gibbons hit a tying 3-pointer in the final minute of regulation, then made another in overtime as the Lakers (9-5) overcame a 16-point deficit to beat the Knights (5-8) in Naples.
Jacob Chadbourne got 11 of his 23 points in the fourth quarter, when Lake Region outscored Poland 21-7. Jacob Stone added 21 points for the Lakers and Gibbons finished with 11.
Hunter Gibson scored 26 points for Poland. Joseph Levesque had 13 and John Patenaude 10.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
TELSTAR 38, MT. ABRAM 25: Morgan Zetts led the Rebels (2-9) with 12 points in the win over the Roadrunners (0-10) in Bethel.
Makenzie Eliot chipped in with 11 points in the win.
Abi Wilcox led Mt. Abram with nine points.
YARMOUTH 30, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 28: Katelyn D’Appolonia paced Yarmouth with 11 points, and the Clippers (7-3) held the Patriots (8-5) to 10 points in the second half as they rallied for a win at Yarmouth.
Amber Fortin scored 12 points for Gray-New Gloucester, which led 18-11 at halftime and 24-21 after three quarters.
KENTS HILL 56, OAK HILL 39: Rose Jenkins scored a game-high 21 points to lead the Huskies to the win in Kents Hill.
Regina Sabirova added 15 points for Kents Hill (7-2) while Logan McDonald scored 14.
Oak Hill (4-7) was led by Emily Dillman with 17 points and Paige Gonya with nine.
HALL-DALE 67, MONMOUTH ACADEMY 18: KK Willis had 22 points to lead the Bulldogs (12-0) past the the Mustangs (3-5) in Monmouth.
Hayden Madore had 11 points for Hall-Dale.
Reese Beaudoin led Monmouth with five points.
WINTHROP 60, BUCKFIELD 20: Morgan Fichthorn led the way with 13 points as the Ramblers (6-3) handled the Bucks (1-9) at home in Winthrop.
Madeline Wagner recorded 11 points for Winthrop and Lydia Rice had 10 points.
Carley Coffman and Alyssa Litchfield put up six points each for Buckfield.
LEWISTON 51, DEERING 24: The Blue Devils (7-6) jumped out to a 19-2 first-quarter lead and cruised to a win over the Rams (3-10) in Portland.
Ellen Legere scored 16 points, including four 3-pointers. Natalie Beaudoin chipped in with 13 points and Koral Morin added 11.
Maya Gayle scored nine points for Deering.
MADISON 52, MOUNTAIN VALLEY 33: Mackenzie Robbins paced the Bulldogs (8-4) with 11 points for a home MVC win over the Falcons (6-5) in Madison.
Hailey Paquet added 10 points for Madison.
Autumn Freeman scored a game-high 13 points for Mountain Valley.
SPRUCE MOUNTAIN 51, DIRIGO 28: Jaydn Pingree did the bulk of her scoring in the first and third quarters, and the Phoenix (9-3) followed suit as they pulled away from the Cougars (7-6) in Dixfield.
Pingree scored seven of her game-high 17 points in the first quarter to help Spruce Mountain to a 21-12 lead. She then scored eight more in the third as the Phoenix stretched their lead to 42-24 heading into the fourth. Elizabeth Grondin also finished in double figures with 10 points.
Destiny LeClerc paced Dirigo with nine points, and Alyvia Perreault and Megan Fletcher added six points apiece.
WAYNFLETE 31, ST. DOMINIC 27: Jessica Connors scored eight of her game-high 14 points in the fourth quarter as the Flyers (2-9) rallied to beat the Saints (3-7) in Portland.
Lucy Hart added eight points for Waynflete.
Jessie Zimmerman scored seven points for St. Dom’s, which led 25-19 heading into the fourth quarter, and Charli and Ava Apodaca added six points apiece.
GIRLS HOCKEY
EDWARD LITTLE/LEAVITT/POLAND 2, SCARBOROUGH 1: Caroline Audette’s short-handed goal with 8:45 remaining turned out to be the winner as the Red Hornets (6-4-2) held off the Red Storm (7-3-1) at Norway Savings Bank Arena in Auburn.
Sophia Hartley assisted on Audette’s goal that made it 2-0. Eve Martineau put the Red Hornets ahead in the second period, with an assist from Kylee Spugnardi.
Scarborough’s Calynn Gendreau scored with 1:07 remaining, assisted by Ashley Farrington.
LEWISTON 8, WINSLOW/GARDINER/CONY/LAWRENCE/MESSALONSKEE/BREWER 1: Toree St. Hilaire scored a goal and assisted on four others in the Blue Devils’ (11-1) victory over the Black Tigers (4-5) at Camden National Bank Ice Vault in Hallowell.
St. Hilaire’s first assist was the secondary helper on Leah Landry’s first-period goal, which opened the scoring. Her next two assists came on goals from linemates Leah Dube and Landry in the first three minutes of the second period that broke a 1-1 tie after one period. Avaya Desjardins (assisted by Courtney Lachance) and Charlotte Cloutier (assisted by Alyssa Marcoux) added goals in the middle frame.
St. Hilaire’s goal opened the third-period scoring, with Dube assisting, then the pair switched spots on the next goal Lewiston goal. Kristen Lachance rounded out the scoring, with Landry notching an assist.
The Black Tigers’ lone goal came Kaylyn Bourque on an assist from Kylie Boardman with one second left in the first period, ending Lewiston goalie Kim McLaughlin’s shutout bid.
ST. DOMINIC/WINTHROP/GRAY-NG/MONMOUTH 1, YARMOUTH/FREEPORT 0: Emily Andrews scored from Georgie Davidson midway through the second period to score the game’s only goals in the Saints’ (4-6) win over the Clippers (4-5) at Norway Savings Bank Arena.
Aubrey White earned the shutout in goal for the Saints. Sydney Abbott allowed just the one goal in net for the Clippers.
BOYS HOCKEY
LEAVITT/GRAY-NG/OAK HILL/POLAND 1, LAKE REGION/FRYEBURG/OXFORD HILLS 0: Reese Collins scored the only goal of the game in the first period to give the Kings (4-3-1) a win over the Ice Cats (8-2) in Bridgton.
Vincent Lupardo stopped all 10 shots he faced in the shutout.
Nathan Metcalf stopped 39 shots in the loss.
